Princess Märtha Louise
The dynamic designer, Wenche Lyche, has always worked with extremes, all at once avantguard and theatrical expression combined to a classic feminine and pure style. Lyche graduated from Bechman's School of design in Stockholm and continued as a hat designer. After a couple of years in the theatre world with a well of colours and volumes in the creations, Lyche started her own business in Oslo, and developed a classic, feminine style with pure lines. A concept, she says, that requires a lot because the expression puts the individual in the centre. That's why Lyche today is more conscious of those who are going to wear her clothes. Her field of work is basically wedding dresses (to private), dresses, shawls, purses and hats. One wedding dress costs about "over 20 000 NOK", but then it's a unique piece of work. To Lyche it is really about the handcraft and the quality of the making process. She is one of twenty Norwegian artists that focus on modern tailor's made work, and she wants to make a living out of it. Lyche is most known in Norway for her wedding dress and clothes to the royal family, especially Princess Märtha Louise.
