Pubs
Most students go, especially on Friday and Saturday night, to some pub or disco. Because the control is minimal, it isn’t hard to get any alcohol in the Czech Republic. So it’s normal to have one, two or more beers although you’re not eighteen years old. Students of our school also usually go to one café in Dobříš. Its name is “Café Velbloud“ (Camel) and it’s really great.

Cinema, theatre
|
Cinema
At the weekend, lots of people go to the cinema. People from our school usually go to Prague, but in summer, there is another possibility. There is a summer cinema near Dobříš and it’s very likeable there. They usually show from June to August every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Theatre
Some students love theatre. Of course, more people go to the cinema, but theatre is also good. Sometimes there’s a possibility to go to theatre with school.

Books, studying
|
|
|
Books
For school, we have to read some number of books per year. But people read in their free time, too. There’s a pretty good library in Dobříš and we also have a small library at school.
Studying
If it’s not possible to have the top-secret cheat sheet inside a desk or the new tattoo on your palm, then you have to study. This unpleasant activity takes surely more time than we want to, but I’m not able to guess how much, because it depends on the particular student, his age, the number and the type of tests,…

Sports

Sports
It’s very popular to do some sports, too. It can be individual sport or collective sport, doesn’t matter. The most favourite sports are football and ice-hockey (only for boys), volleyball, basketball, martial arts, cycling, jogging, swimming, skiing, snowboarding,…

Dancing lessons
Dancing lessons is a Czech speciality for young people (about fifteen or sixteen years old). Almost each of us attended them last year. We learnt standard dances (waltz, tango, foxtrot), latin dances (cha-cha, jive, salsa) and some typical national dances (polka, mazurka). If you go to dancing lessons, you have to wear formal clothes. For girls it means dress and high-heeled shoes, for boys suit and a tie or a bow tie.

Music and Art lessons
|
Music or art lessons
Lots of people go to an art school to take art lessons, music lessons or lessons of some special dance. Sometimes there is a concert or an exposition where we present what we do. In art lessons, people usually paint pictures or make some ceramic products. The most favourite musical instruments are: piano, guitar, electric guitar, keyboard, violin, flute,...

Music & concerts
Nearly everybody likes different kind of music. In Czech Republic some of the most listened is rock, pop, punk, hip-hop, metal,… and we usually express our attitude by our clothes. Bad guys with gold chains around neck are hip-hop lovers, pink-dressed princess with blond hair is often crazy about Enrique Iglesias. We often go to concert or musical festival in summer.

Computers
|
Computer games
If we are angry and want to kill somebody (or all of human race), we switch on our PC. It’s the best solution.
ICQ (Skype, MSN,...)
It’s very popular, fast and cheap way of communication. Almost everybody has some. It’s very usual that when we arrive home, we connect to internet and sign some of these programs in…

Other activities (outside...)

|
|
Going outside
Going outside is great way how to talk with our friends, have fun and enjoy the free time. For people, who have dog, it could be also very effective way how to avoid a wet carpet. We walk the dog in park or in forest and when is nice weather it’s worth going there even without a dog. Of course, some people also go outside to take photos.
Clubs
Some students take part in some club. It depends on their interests what they have chosen. You can ride a horse, try to perform as amateur in theatre or theatre club, take part in fencing club, be a scout or anything else.

Television

TV
Watching TV is very popular activity. We like films and almost everybody has own favourite serial (for most of us it’s the serial House M.D.). Students also like specialized channels at music, sport, documents,…
